NEW HOME - NO FURNITURE 

It is not unusual for people buying their first home, moving up or relocating to find themselves in the position of having a wonderful new home, but vacant rooms. Their last place was smaller or did not have a dining room or other specialized space.  Worse, the move took every cent you had, and now you find yourself staring at the empty room, sitting on beanbags or sleeping on a mattress on the floor.  

Sure you can get out the old charge card, but the rates are high and and it ties up your credit to do those emergency children's dental visits, car problems or other emergencies.  If you are here for just a few years like a Palmer student or middle management with one of the retailers, you may not want to buy anything at all, but still have a need for the missing furniture item.

A possible solution may be renting the appliance, furniture, TV or computer.  You can rent to own or just rent and move on.  I did this years ago myself when I was first married and was in the military.  The monthly payment was cheaper than the charge card and the furniture was better that I could have otherwise afforded.  

A past client of mine, Dave Scroggins, is the General Manager of Aaron's over at 3810 N Brady in Davenport, you know, next to K Mart. I visited him the other day at his store and was pleasantly surprised to find Dell Computers and other name brand appliances, electronics and furniture.  The store was clean and well laid out.  Might be a solution if you are in need of something and do not want to put out the cash at present.  Tell him Tom and Cyndee Browner sent you and there might even be a slight break of some kind.
