Cyndee and I have photographed ruins through out the world.  I have been privileged to photograph the basements and display cases of many museums.  Very rarely, we sold a few things.  A few friends have asked me to include artifacts on our site and to take consignments from them.  We sell the Peruvian Jewelry and Teddy Bears to help pay for your trips and thought this might be of interest to our audience also help with the expenses of our travels.

PERUVIAN ARTIFACTS

Artifacts will be graded from 1 through 10, 10 being the best quality.  

O = Original Condition      MD  = Minor Damage Original Condition Less than 1%      Damaged = 1 to 5 %    Severely Damaged  5 to 10 %          

GO = Fragment Glued Back Original Condition   GS Glued Segments   F = Cracks filled    

MR  Minor Restoration - Minor Rim chips fixed or probe hole repaired or surface disruption filled  - Less than 1% - 

SR  Slightly Restored 1 to 5 %     R = Restored - 5 to 20%    RC  Re-Chipped    Minor, Less than 1%  Moderate 1 to 5% of edges, Severe 5% and above

Pottery has inherent problems with moisture, the weight of the surrounding soils, roots, farm equipment, even cows or llamas.  The result is may pieces are pressure cracked, sometimes found killed or broken in the ground.  Intact pieces of quality are rare.  Quality pieces are often glued back together, cracks filled, the better pieces are often restored by professionals to their original condition.  Intact and rare demand premium prices. Damage does hurt value, but quality pieces professionally restored, still bring high prices.  Some purist will collect quality pieces glued back together but do not want professional restoration.  Others want the piece to display as original and prefer that the piece is restored.  We have no choice as to how they have been treated, but try to let you know ahead of time what you are getting.  Click any small picture and a large photo will appear for you to review before you buy.  Fill out the form and mail your check.  If  you have any questions, please call me.  We want to be a resource you can trust and of course, we want your repeat business.  This page has been empty for about 6 years.  We just got a consignment and the artifacts are wonderful.  Hope you enjoy them.
